Hello and welcome to my fundraising page, where you’ll learn a bit more about me and my upcoming medical mission trip where I’ll come along side a wonderful organization to deliver Medical care to the people in and around Iganga, Uganda.

Many years ago God placed Uganda on my radar. I have been following various people serving in Africa for many years now. Sole Hope, Shine and of course, Musana Children’s Home/Musana Community Development Organization.

Musana Community Development Org. Started in 2008 after three young college aged girls spent the summer in Iganga, Uganda. They witnessed unspeakable conditions that many orphaned children were living in — a tiny room on dirt floors, walking over a mile for drinking water, their toilet was also their kitchen, fatherless, motherless. (Please watch the video for pictures).  They could not just walk away from what they saw. So they didn’t. They started Musana Children’s Home which housed 50+ children right away— their new home provided food, shelter, safety, and hope. Over the years Musana Children’s Home has developed into a self-sustaining organization where children, men and women provide for themselves through self-sustanence and have access to education, healthcare, hope, love and now, a future that is bright. Musana has touched the lives of thousands of Ugandan people and is now fully run by local members of the community.

Something in me has been gravitating towards Uganda for all of these years. You can imagine my excitement and thankfulness when I found out that my favorite organization of them all, my church, Flatirons, was taking a medical team over to serve in Uganda. I submitted an application, interviewed, and I was chosen!

On October 24th we leave for a trip that I hope not only impacts the lives of those we will be meeting and doing life with in Uganda while hopefully helping them in some way with their medical care  — but I hope the trip changes me and opens up more service doors. God has placed Uganda on my heart for a reason. I’m so excited to learn more about that reason! I hope you’ll join me in this journey through prayer, donation or following along with my journey (I’ll be sure to post my journal entries and pictures so you, too, can see the amazing things going on in Africa).

My team consists of several medical professionals -- led by an infectious disease doctor, a seasoned nurse and a long-time paramedic. A total of 11 of us will travel together to Africa.

My personal goal is to raise at least half of the trip cost through donations. If you know me, you know I do not ever like asking for help. But God is humbling me, and I am working on this. Every $1 helps reach my goal, and I thank you so much! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and this trip!
