Globlalscope Thailand - Final Day Part 1

Last Day: We spent our last day on campus, inviting students to Grapevine for Friday Night Karaoke. While it took some courage for us to approach students, we all felt more comfortable by the last day and had a blast meeting new students. We are hopeful that something as simple as handing out a flyer will be enough to plant some seeds in these students hearts. We will continue to pray that God will peak their curiosity, give them the courage to check out Grapevine, and ultimately water and nourish these seeds. Our last event at Grapevine was a perfect send off. Our Thai friend Sugar taught us how to make a Thai dish that is popular in her hometown and the other staff made a delicious Philippine meal. We topped off the night with the students' favorite pastime: karaoke!! Super fun to sing songs together for several hours! Great to see 'sanuk' in action: Thai people really do embrace FUN in all that they do.

Final thoughts: We are sad to be leaving our new friends in Thailand, but the team is so thankful for the short time we got to spend in Thailand. This trip will definitely be a life-long learning experience and huge step forward in our own faith stories. As we reflect on the trip words like hope, refreshing, new beginnings, perspective, and eye-opening come to mind. In our limited time there, it was clear that God is very present and definitely moving in the hearts of the Thai students we met both on campus and at Grapevine. It was such a blessing to see a glimpse of God's plan to reveal himself to his children in Thailand and an even greater honor to serve alongside the incredible leaders at Grapevine. Their passion and deeply ingrained desire for Thai students to know the one true God is inspiring.
