Globalscope Thailand Days 1, 2, & 3.

Day 1 and 2
Travel Days: books, movies, in-flight claustrophobia, sleep deprivation, eager anticipation of arrival and impending adventure.

Day 3
We are on the ground in Thailand, adjusting to the time change, culture, and new faces. We started our first day with a traditional Thai breakfast and our taste buds were delighted. Had our team orientation with the Grapevine staff and learned the do's and dont's of Thai culture and got a glimpse of our schedule for our time here. We had lunch on campus - slower day in the cafeteria since students are taking final exams this week, but it gave us a fun opportunity to explore the Facebook Live feature to invite students to join us. Sharp learning curve, but one we millennials shall overcome. We met our first student named Tia (buenas suerte en tu examen de español!).

The afternoon was full of rest and good conversation. It is exciting to hear the staff speak of their vision for this semester. Mark John told us their team word for the year is boldness - they want to be bold in sharing the gospel with Thai students this year. I have confidence that their courage to invite students to Grapevine events and create new opportunities to meet new people will lead to many Thai students being transformed by the Good News. The other thing they said is that the current group of students is very inquisitive- asking lots of questions - and listening. The Thai students sound very interested in hearing about Jesus. I'm so proud of the staff here. They are so passionate about making sure every student knows God loves them and they are eager to build authentic relationships with them. I believe it's going to be an exciting and rewarding semester for this ministry and it is an honor to spend time working alongside them. We are all excited to meet more students tomorrow and looking forward to what God has in store for us this week.
